This week in ETSU Athletics: September 19-25
Monday, September 19, 2011 Volleyball Last week: ETSU dropped three matches at the JMU Coca-Cola Classic over the weekend. The Bucs were defeated by James Madison, Appalachian State and Georgetown in the tournament. Promotion: Tuesday night’s match against USC Upstate is “Back in Blue at Brooks night” – Wear ETSU apparel and get in for a Buc ($1). Coverage: Live video and live stats will be available at ETSUBucs.com. Last week: The Bucs defeated Davidson, 3-2, at home on Saturday night in their only match of the week. Promotion: Tuesday night’s match is “Greek Cook-off night” – Fraternities and sororities come together with their best recipes to be judged by ETSU coaches. ETSU will celebrate “Family Weekend” in the match against Furman on Sunday. Coverage: Live video and live stats will be available at ETSUBucs.com for the Virginia Tech and Furman matches, while the road match with Winthrop will have live stats available at WinthropEagles.com. Last week: The Lady Bucs fell in double overtime on Saturday night at Winthrop, 2-1. Promotion: Friday’s match against USC Upstate will celebrate Youth Soccer Month – Kids 12 and under get in for free. Sunday’s match is Father/Daughter Day – Buy one get one free admission. This week: After opening the fall season over the weekend at the UT Fall Invitational, the ETSU men’s tennis team continues tournament play on Friday as the Bucs will compete at the UVA Ranked +1 and the Southern Collegiate. Last week: Newcomer Rogerio Ribeiro advanced to the finals of the White Singles Main Draw at the UT Fall Invitational, while Robin Akser advanced to the semifinals of the White Singles Main Draw and Jeremy Bonnevalle advanced to the quarterfinals of the Orange Singles Main Draw.
