This Week in ETSU Athletics: September 5 – September 11

This week: The Bucs travel to Chattanooga, Tenn. for the Country Inn & Suites Invitational hosted by Chattanooga. ETSU will open the tournament against UNC Asheville (3-4) on Friday at 11:00 a.m. before taking on Chattanooga (1-6) at 6 p.m. On Saturday, the Bucs face Tennessee Tech (0-6) at 2 p.m.

Last week: ETSU (3-5) finished 0-4 at the highly competitive Blue Raider Bash hosted by MTSU. The Bucs opened the tournament by falling to MTSU 3-0 on Friday night.  ETSU then dropped matches to Missouri (3-0) and Austin Peay (3-1) on Saturday, before closing the tournament with a loss against FIU (3-1).

Men’s Soccer

This week: ETSU (3-0) travels to Norfolk, Va. for the Stihl Soccer Classic hosted by Old Dominion.  The Bucs take on No. 25 Old Dominion (1-0) on Friday night at 7 p.m. before facing No. 8 William & Mary (2-1) on Sunday at 12 p.m.

Last week: The Bucs defeated No. 24 UNC Greensboro 1-0 in double overtime on Wednesday for their first ever victory against a ranked opponent.  ETSU stayed unbeaten on the season after defeating Marshall, 2-0, on Sunday night.

Women’s Soccer

This week: ETSU (3-2) hits the road for a pair of matches at the RedHawk Shootout hosted by Miami (OH) University on Friday and Sunday. The Bucs open the weekend with a match against Wright State (3-2-1) on Friday at 1:30 p.m. before taking on Miami (OH) (2-2) on Sunday at 3 p.m.

Last week: The Bucs finished a perfect 2-0 on the week to get above .500 for the first time this season. ETSU defeated Longwood 2-1 in double overtime on Friday afternoon and closed the week with a convincing 10-0 win over Alabama A&M on Sunday.

Men's Golf

This week: The ETSU men's golf team will kick off its fall season at the Northern Intercollegiate Invitational hosted by Northern Illinois in Sugar Grove, Ill. The two day event begins on Saturday.

Women’s Tennis

This week: The defending Atlantic Sun Conference champion ETSU women’s tennis team will open its fall season at home in the ETSU Fall Invitational. The event will take place on Friday and Saturday at the Buddy Hartsell Tennis Center. Admission is free for the entire weekend.
