MACON, Ga. (May 18, 2011)
- Coming off of an 8-6 win over No. 8 Georgia Tech, the ETSU baseball team will look to finish the regular season on a high note as the Bucs head to Macon, Ga. to face Mercer in a pivotal three-game conference series.

The two teams open the series Thursday night at 6 p.m. Game two is slated for 6 p.m. Friday, while first pitch of the series finale is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday.

The Bucs (35-17, 15-10 A-Sun) have won four straight contests and are in the hunt for an at large bid into the NCAA baseball tournament. Sophomore Andrew Green (Powell, Tenn.) will look to extend his 14-game hit streak against the Bears (34-17, 15-11 A-Sun).

Mercer holds a 16-6 edge in the all-time series. The Buccaneers were successful the last time they visited Claude Smith Field taking two of three games in 2009.

The Bears are led designated hitter Joe Winker who has a .382 average with ten doubles, 11 home runs and 44 RBI. As a team, Mercer is hitting .313 with 72 home runs and 373 RBI. The Bears also boast one of the best pitching staffs in the Atlantic Sun with a 3.49 ERA.
