RALIEGH, N.C. (May 5, 2011)
- The ETSU baseball team is set to face North Carolina State in a key non-conference series starting Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Doak Field in Raleigh, N.C. The two teams are slated to play on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. before closing out the series on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Head coach Tony Skole is only one win back of 300 in his ETSU career as the Bucs (27-15, 12-10 A-Sun) are riding a six-game win streak coming into the series.

Senior Paul Hoilman (Johnson City, Tenn.) guided the Bucs to a 5-3 win over Appalachian State on Wednesday. Hoilman set the ETSU career hits record in the contest with his home run the sixth inning to surpass for Buccaneer great Shane Byrne with 291 hits. The Johnson City, Tenn. native only needs one double to claim the outright Atlantic Sun Career doubles record.

N.C. State (26-19, 11-13 ACC) has won seven of its last ten contests including a sweep of North Carolina. The Wolfpack are hitting .285 as a team led by sophomore Chris Diaz. Diaz has a .344 average with nine doubles, two home runs and 24 RBI on the season.

The Bucs only meeting with N.C. State came back in 1991 as the Wolfpack came out on top in a 5-0 game.
