JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (May 2, 2011)
- The ETSU baseball team is set to face UNC Asheville and Appalachian State in a pair of non-conference mid-week games as the Bucs look to extend a five-game win streak.

The Bucs (27-15, 12-10 A-Sun) are slated to host the Bulldogs (15-25, 7-11 Big South) on Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. at Cardinal Park, while the team will make the trip to Boone, N.C. on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. contest with the Mountaineers (26-18, 10-11 SoCon).

Currently, the Buccaneers are coming off of a sweep of Manhattan this past weekend. Junior Matthew Scruggs (Knoxville, Tenn.) was named the Atlantic Sun Player of the Week after hitting .583 last week as the Bucs posted a 4-0 record.

Senior Paul Hoilman (Johnson City, Tenn.) will look to reach another milestone this week as the first baseman is only one hit away from tying the ETSU career hits record held by Shane Byrne who played from 2003-06 and posted 290 hits.

Head coach Tony Skole is eyeing a milestone of his own as he needs only two wins to reach 300 in his tenure at ETSU.

ETSU defeated both the Bulldogs and the Mountaineers earlier in the season. The Bucs rallied for 11 unanswered runs to defeat UNC Asheville on March 2, while ETSU mounted yet another come from behind win to take down Appalachian State on April 6.
