OXFORD, Miss. (April 3, 2011) - The ETSU women's golf team placed two players in the Top 25 individually, but as a team the Buccaneers were unable to make a move up the leaderboard and finished 16th following third and final round play Sunday in the Rebel Intercollegiate at the Ole Miss Golf Course.

Freshman Sian Evans (Gillingham, England) and senior Nina Muehl (Vienna, Austria) were the bright spots for ETSU during a tournament that otherwise was a struggle for the Bucs. Evans finished tied for 19th with a tournament score of 8-over-par 224 (77-72-75), while Muehl posted a team-best score of 73 on Sunday and finished at 10-over 226 (75-78-73) to finish tied for 25th.

Tennessee dominated the team competition, posting a tournament record score of 863 to win by 30 strokes over second place Tulsa. Meanwhile, the Lady Vols made it a sweep as teammates Nathalie Mansson and Erica Popson tied for first on the individual leaderboard at 213.

The Bucs will now turn their attention to the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships, which will be played April 11-14 at the Venetian Bay Golf Club in New Smyrna Beach, Fla. For more on ETSU women's golf, visit ETSUBucs.com and click on the women's golf link.
