ETSU, Appalachian State softball doubleheader called due to rain

Thursday, March 31, 2011

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 30, 2011) - With the Bucs needing only three outs to make game one official against Appalachian State, the crew chief decided to move both teams in their respective dugouts when rain slowly started to fall at Betty Basler Field Wednesday evening. After waiting a little over an hour for the rain to come to a complete stop, the umpires called the game with ETSU leading the Mountaineers, 3-0, in the top of the fifth inning.

The series will not be made up and the Bucs will return to action Friday afternoon when ETSU hosts Jacksonville in a conference doubleheader. First pitch is set for 4 p.m.
