Women's tennis hits the road for a pair this weekend

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Jan. 27, 2011) - After opening the season with a convincing 7-0 victory over Milligan, the ETSU women's tennis team returns to action this weekend with a pair of road contests against Eastern Kentucky and No. 52 Wake Forest.
 
The Bucs will first take on Eastern Kentucky on Friday inside the Greg Adams Tennis Center, beginning at 11 a.m. ETSU will then travel to nationally ranked Wake Forest on Sunday at 12 p.m.

The Bucs used a strong team effort against Milligan last Thursday night inside the MSHA Athletics Center. ETSU got victories in all three doubles matches and all six singles matches. Each singles match was won in straight sets.

Eastern Kentucky
will kick of its season against the Bucs on Friday, but they have enjoyed plenty of success the past couple of seasons. The Colonels won the 2009 OVC Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament, while they advanced to the final of the OVC Championship last season.

No. 52 Wake Forest opened its season last Saturday with a solid 6-1 victory over Winthrop. The Demon Deacons will host Virginia on Saturday before taking on the Bucs Sunday afternoon.
