COLUMBUS, Ohio (Nov. 21, 2010) - The ETSU women's basketball team opens a four-game road swing Monday night as the Lady Bucs travel to seventh-ranked Ohio State. Tip is set for 7 p.m. inside Value City Arena.

After beginning the year with key wins over Chattanooga and Richmond, the Lady Bucs suffered a 19-point setback (75-56) Friday night against Appalachian State. The loss snapped a 12-game home winning streak and nine-game regular season winning streak.

Senior Tara Davis (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) has been the driving force behind the ETSU attack as she has played 112 of the 120 total minutes this season. Davis leads the A-Sun in scoring (23.3) and she has hit 33 consecutive free throws dating back to last season. Meanwhile, freshman Destiny Mitchell (Bluffton, Ga.) has been a solid addition to the Lady Bucs, as she is posting 14.7 points and 9.7 rebounds in her first three collegiate games.

As a team, the Lady Bucs are averaging 86.5 points and shooting 49 percent (60-122) in their two wins; however, ETSU shot 33 percent (19-57) and allowed 75 points in the loss to the Mountaineers Friday night.

Ohio State is currently ranked seventh in the country after opening the season 3-0. The Buckeyes, who have been ranked for 116 consecutive weeks, are coming off a 57-52 victory at LSU last Wednesday night.

The Buckeyes are led by three-time Big Ten Player of the Year and two-time All-American Jantel Lavender. Lavender is averaging 26.7 points and 11.3 rebounds through her first three games. Ohio State is shooting 49.1 percent from the field (79-161), while out-rebounding its opponents by nine per game - 42 to 33.

Monday is the first meeting between the two schools and it's also the first Big Ten opponent ETSU faces since taking on Indiana exactly 12 years ago.
