JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 6, 2010) - The ETSU women's basketball team will look to finish its exhibition season out on a positive note when the Lady Bucs host King on Sunday afternoon inside the ETSU/MSHA Athletic Center. Tip is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.

The Lady Bucs are coming off a 59-51 setback over preseason nationally ranked Tusculum Monday night. ETSU, who shot 23.8 percent (19-80) from the field, were led by seniors Tara Davis (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) and Latisha Belcher (Martinsville, Va.) as they each netted a team-leading 12 points. Meanwhile, Belcher notched a double-double by ripping down 10 rebounds. Freshman Destiny Mitchell (Bluffton, Ga.) provided the Blue and Gold with a game-high 12 rebounds in 21 minutes off the bench. As a team, the Lady Bucs out-rebounded the Pioneers, 65-50, while ETSU also swatted eight shots.

King, who is entering its first season as a Division II member, went to the 2010 NCCAA Division I Women's Basketball National Tournament and finished sixth after winning the Mid-East Region championship with an 18-13 record. The Lady Tornado return their leading scorer from a year ago as senior forward Ashley Deans is back for a final season after leading the way with 17.6 points per game.

This marks the second straight year ETSU and King square off in an exhibition finale. The Lady Bucs defeated the Tornado, 96-59, inside the ETSU/MSHA Athletic Center back on Nov. 7, 2009. ETSU mounted a 38-4 run midway throughout the first half and six players reached double figures in scoring. As a team, the Lady Bucs shot 56.1 percent from the floor (37-66) and the Blue and Gold assisted on 19 of their 37 makes.
