JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Oct. 15, 2010) - The ETSU trio of Lauren Baufield (Plymouth, Minn.), Megan Devine (Kingsport, Tenn.), and Whitney Cogburn (Kingsport, Tenn.) each recorded double-doubles in leading the Bucs to a 3-2 (25-20, 21-25, 25-18, 23-25, 15-12) victory over Jacksonville, Friday night in Atlantic Sun Conference action at Swisher Gym.

The Bucs move to 17-6 overall on the season and more importantly 3-1 in conference play. With the loss, Jacksonville falls to 10-11 and 2-3 in A-Sun play this season. ETSU has now won their last four contests on the road.

Baufield continues her solid play as of late as she tied a team-high with 14 kills, while also leading the team with 17 digs. She also recorded three assists, two aces, and three blocks. Devine finished the night with 14 kills and 14 digs, while also recording two blocks. Cogburn had a team-high 41 assists to go along with 10 digs, six kills, six blocks, and an ace.

The Bucs out-blocked the Dolphins 12.0-7.0 and are now a perfect 10-0 this season when recording 10 or more blocks. ETSU finished with a .176 attack efficiency while limiting JU to just a .096 hitting percentage. The Bucs are now 5-1 this season in five set matches, including five straight following an early season loss against Appalachian State.

Alysa Long (Romulus, Mich.) was the third ETSU player to finish with double-digit kills as she recorded 10 kills and a game-high seven blocks. She continues to lead the league in blocks. Kiley Tamblyn (Torrance, Calif.) also had a solid night as she recorded 12 digs and five assists.
As each team won two sets apiece, the match came down to the fifth set. Following a key service ace by Cogburn, the Bucs jumped out in front 7-3. Jacksonville crawled back into the match as they tied it up at 11. The Bucs then quickly responded with a kill from Devine to take back the lead. Then, with the match tied 12-12, Cogburn and Baufield put the Bucs back in front for good after back-to-back kills. ETSU capped off the set and match following a JU attack error.

The Bucs continue their Jacksonville swing as they take on North Florida tomorrow afternoon at 3 p.m. inside the UNF Arena.
