Men's golf set to tee it up at Rod Myers Invitational

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 9, 2010) - The ETSU men's golf team is set for their second tournament appearance of the season as they tee it up in the Rod Myers Invitational, hosted by Duke University on Sunday and Monday.
The Bucs are coming off of an 11th place showing at the highly competitive Carpet Capital Collegiate. Senior Paul O'Kane (Castledawson, Northern Ireland) led the way for the Bucs in the event as he finished tied for 34th.
Competing along with ETSU is: Charlotte, Duke, No. 19 Iowa, Michigan, Middle Tennessee State, Minnesota, N.C. State, Rice, Tulsa, UNC Greensboro and Virginia Commonwealth.
The tournament opens on Sunday, Oct. 10 with a 9 am shotgun start. Teams will play a continuous 36 holes on the opening day before an 18-hole final round on Monday. Monday's action begins with tee times starting at 8 am.
The Duke University Golf Club, opened in 1957 and ranked among the top on-campus facilities in the NCAA, will play as a 7,136 yard, par 72 for the event. The course was designed by Robert Trent Jones and redesigned by Jones' son, Rees, in 1994. The Duke University Golf Club, considered one of the top 10 courses in North Carolina, was the host site of the 1962 and 2001 NCAA Championships.
