Bucs to host Winthrop in home opener

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 14, 2010) - The ETSU men's soccer team is set to host Winthrop in the home opener Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Summers-Taylor Stadium. The contest is also the first ever home night game in the program's history.
 
The Bucs (2-2-0) finished 1-1 this past weekend defeating Bradley 2-1 before falling to Evansville 2-0 at the ProRehab Aces Soccer Classic in Evansville, Ind. ETSU is led by senior Guilherme Reis (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) as he is tied for the team lead with one goal.
 
This is the first meeting between the two teams. The Buccaneers are 3-2-0 all-time against teams from the Big South.
 
Winthrop (2-2-0) comes into the contest having lost two of its last three matches including a 3-0 loss to Mercer and a 1-0 defeat to No.23 UNC Wilmington. The Eagles are led by Miquel Casajuana as he has a goal and two assists on the season.
