Bucs to face Bradley and Evansville in the ProRehab Aces Soccer Classic

EVANSVILLE
, Ind. (Sept. 9, 2010) - The ETSU men's soccer team is set to face Bradley and Evansville this weekend in the ProRehab Aces Soccer Classic in Evansville, Ind.
 
The Bucs face Bradley on Friday at 6 p.m., and then close out the tournament Sunday at 3:30 p.m. against the host Purple Aces.
 
Both Bradley and Evansville have a rich history of success making several trips to the NCAA tournament. The Braves have made it to the NCAA tournament in four of the last seven years including an Elite 8 appearance in 2007, while the Purple Aces have played in 11 NCAA Tournaments.
 
"We are looking to continue to measure ourselves by playing very strong programs," said head coach Scott Calabrese. "Though we have developed some confidence here at the beginning of the season, we still have a lot to improve upon, and we must continue to work hard.
 
The Bucs (1-1-0) are coming off one of the biggest wins in the program's brief history defeating Clemson 1-0 on the road Monday. Senior Guilherme Reis (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) had the game-winner on a penalty kick in the second overtime.
 
This will be the first meeting for the Bucs against both the Braves and Purple Aces.
 
Bradley (2-0-1) is currently ranked ninth the the NSCAA/HendricksCars.com Regional Rankings after defeating St. Peter's and Delaware, while picking up a draw against Fairfield. The Braves are led by Bryan Gaul who has a goal and an assists on the season.
 
Evansville (1-1-0) has won the ProRehab Aces Soccer Classic the last two seasons and are currently ranked 30th in the CollegeSoccerNews.com poll. The Purple Aces are also receiving votes in the NSCAA/HendricksCars.com national poll and are ranked seventh regionally. UE defeated Washinton 2-1 last weekend before falling to No.16 Portland on the road 2-1.
