JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 8, 2010) - Several members and coaches of the men's and women's track and field teams spent their labor day helping at the Barberitos Winged Deer Triathlon at Winged Deer Park in Johnson City, Tenn.

"We had a lot of fun helping serve the community in this way," said assistant coach Eli Sunquist.  "Although it was an early morning, everyone had a great attitude, and everyone was able to use their talents to help make this event a success.  It was also a great team building event for our kids, many of which are new to the program this year."

The event was put on by the Tri Cities Triathlon Club and had 142 registered participants, ranging in age from 14 to 66 and coming from multiple states, including Tenn., N.C., S.C., Va. and beyond. Members of the track and field team helped with various tasks including registration, setup, traffic control and cleanup after the event.
