ETSU Women's Basketball Grant Team set to host two-day seminar
Monday, July 12, 2010 This seminar, which was put together by the ETSU Grant Team and A-Sun Conference, is designed to bring the other 10 institutions from the league to "ETSU is proud to play a leadership role in the A-Sun Conference by hosting a two-day seminar for the member institutions in the league focused on marketing and promoting women's basketball," Senior Associate Athletic Director/Senior Woman Administrator Barbie Breedlove. "This is part of the NCAA Women's Basketball Grant Program and is designed to grow attendance at the grassroots level. It is a testament to our ETSU Grant Team that we were awarded the grant funding for the third straight year. It is exciting to partner with the A-Sun and Commissioner Gumbart and Senior Associate Commissioner Sherri Booker to bring this expertise and experience to all the members of our conference. Women's basketball will definitely benefit from these two days of intense work in ETSU received a share of the grant after teaming up with the A-Sun to help increase awareness, exposure and attendance of women's basketball throughout the remaining 10 institutions. In total, 88 member schools and conferences applied for the third year of the pilot program, and the A-Sun joined 13 other schools to receive the grant for the upcoming season.
