ETSU baseball gets back to work in preparation for 2010 season
Thursday, September 17, 2009
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 17, 2009) - The ETSU baseball team opened fall practices last week as the Bucs begin preparations for the 2010 season.
"The first time on the field with a new ball club is always exciting," said head coach Tony Skole. "We have done some things well early on, but on the flip side there are many areas which we need to continue to make gradual improvements. Our energy and enthusiasm have been fantastic. Our practices are very fast paced, and right now our new guys are trying to catch up with the pace of the game. Our goal right now is to simply be better today, than we were yesterday."
The Bucs have been engaged in strength and conditioning drills and individual workouts since the start of classes. Full squad practices run until the middle of October and will end with the annual Blue/Gold World Series.
The 2010 season begins on Feb. 19 as the Bucs face The Citadel in Charleston, S.C.
