JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Dec. 24, 2009) - Junior Paul Hoilman (Johnson City, Tenn.) and sophomore Bo Reeder (Cookeville, Tenn.) were named to the Louisville Slugger Pre-season All-American Third Team announced Collegiate Baseball earlier this week.
"This is an outstanding honor for Paul and Bo," said head coach Tony Skole. "This recognition is well deserved, and is justified by what they have accomplished in the past and what they represent. These two young men are great ambassadors for ETSU, the athletic department and all of college baseball. They truly represent what an All-American is all about, and what it means to be a student-athlete at the Division I level."
Hoilman pounded out a .380 batting average a season ago and slugged 17 home runs. The junior enters the season tied with Kennesaw State's Jace Whitmer as the active leader in the Atlantic Sun in home runs with 26. Hoilman finished tied for second in the conference in RBI with 66 in 2009.
Reeder had an outstanding freshman campaign as he knocked in 53 runs while hammering out 39 extra base hits. A Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-American selection in 2009, Reeder also posted a .339 batting-average and a .661 slugging percentage. The Cookeville, Tenn. native also made 17 appearances on the mound for ETSU holding a record of 4-4 with one save striking out 26.
"Not only are Paul and Bo among the elite students at ETSU, they are also extremely involved in community service and are two of the most dedicated and hardest workers that I have ever coached," Skole said. "They each have the rare ability to make everyone around them better no matter what activity they are involved in. I am very excited to see what the future holds for each of these outstanding young men. I couldn't be more proud of them."
