Buccaneer standout records nation's tenth fastest time in 100m

MACON, Ga. (April 7, 2010) - Senior Duronal Monal (Belle Glade, Fla.) enjoyed making the trip back to his home state last weekend to compete in the Florida Relays, and after turning in the nation's tenth fastest time in 100m, the Buccaneer sprinter received Atlantic Sun Athlete of the Week honors on Wednesday afternoon.

Competing against some of the top athletes, Monal flew his way atop the leaderboard in his heat and tied for fourth overall - clocking in at 10.30 on Friday afternoon inside James G. Presley Stadium. Monal's time not only places him first among conference competitors, but it also ties him for sixth in the East Region.

This marks the first time during the 2010 outdoor season Monal has won the award and the second of his career.

Monal and the Bucs return to action this weekend when ETSU competes at the Sea Relays in Knoxville.
