ETSU looks to win its eighth trip to the NCAA Tournament starting Friday

DeLAND, Fla. (April 15, 2010) - A day removed from five Buccaneers being named as Atlantic Sun All-Conference players and sophomore Sander Gille (Kuringen, Belgium) winning his first career A-Sun Player of the Year award the No. 59 ETSU men's tennis team begins its quest for a fourth straight A-Sun Championship against Campbell with a 9 a.m. match Friday at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center hosted by Stetson University.

ETSU (13-7, 9-1 A-Sun) the top overall seed in the field has won 11 out its last 12 contests. Since joining the league in 2005 the Bucs are 9-1 in the conference tournament. ETSU's only loss came against Belmont in its first season in the league.

Individually, Gille - who was an All-Tournament selection last season - has been unstoppable against league competitors this season. In fact the Kuringen, Belgium native has dropped only one set in route to a perfect 10-0 record in A-Sun play.

Campbell (16-8, 6-4 A-Sun) who is seeded fourth, enters the match after closing out fifth-seeded Jacksonville 4-1 Thursday morning in the quarterfinals.

Individually, senior Davy Sum leads the way after being tabbed as one of two unanimous choices on the A-Sun First-Team Wednesday. Sum - who sits with a 16-4 singles record - was the Fighting Camels lone victory March 20 when the Bucs topped CU 6-1.

Last season ETSU opened the A-Sun Championships with a 4-0 victory over Campbell. In that win current players senior Daniel Isaza (Medellin, Columbia) junior Charles Bottoni (Bois Guillaume, France ) and Grega Teraz (Mojstrana, Slovenia) and sophomore Robin Akser (Ornskoldsvik, Sweden) all picked up key victories against CU.
