JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (April 10, 2010) - Amanda Moseley's two-run, walk-off homer in the bottom of the seventh inning lifted North Florida to a 7-6 victory in game one over ETSU on Saturday afternoon, and the Ospreys capped off the sweep with an 8-5 victory over the Lady Bucs at the UNF Softball Complex.

For the second straight trip to Jacksonville, the Lady Bucs come home winless after suffering their eighth straight loss. ETSU dropped to 14-28, 3-9 on the season, while UNF improved to 23-22, 9-5 after winning for the third time its last four games.

GAME ONE RECAP

Despite holding a five-run lead, the ETSU softball team couldn't hold on, as Amanda Moseley gave the Ospreys the walk-off win with a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh, lifting UNF to a 7-6 victory.

Senior Marissa Hardy (Rocklin, Calif.) suffered the loss (3-9) after tossing 2.1 innings in relief and allowing three runs on two hits. UNF's Devyn Findley picked up the win (17-12) on senior day by issuing six runs on nine hits in seven innings of work.

The Lady Bucs jumped out to a quick start by scoring four runs in the third and tacked on a solo run in the fourth take lead 5-0 after three and a half innings.

However, the margin wasn't large enough to pick up the much-needed conference win, as the Ospreys responded for three runs in the fourth and tied the game at five after plating two more runs in the fifth.

ETSU never backed down as the Lady Bucs regained a 6-5 lead when Lucy Schneider (Dade City, Fla.) scored Cheniece Cason (Moreno Valley, Calif.) on a fielder's choice RBI in the seventh.

Unfortunately, the lead couldn't hold up for ETSU as Moseley two-run homer capped off the come-from-behind victory with one out in the bottom of the inning, giving UNF the 7-6 victory.

GAME TWO RECAP

The Ospreys scored five runs in the fourth and two more in the fifth and UNF held off a late Lady Buccaneer rally with an 8-5 victory in game two.

ETSU continued to fight late as they scored four runs in the fifth, but Devyn Findley hung on to earn the save after tossing one inning and allowing one unearned run. Shaina Dent earned the win (6-10) as she lasted six innings and surrendered four runs (three earned) on six hits in six innings of work.

UNF scored its first run on an RBI single in the second, but the Ospreys sent all nine hitters to the plate in the fourth and pushed four runs across the dish to extend their lead to 5-0. The Ospreys weren't done scoring as the home team plated a pair of runs in the fifth and led 8-1.

The Lady Bucs scored their first run Cheniece Cason's RBI single up the middle in the fifth.

Then, in its last at-bat, ETSU scored four runs on two hits, but Findley got out of the jam by leaving a runner on board in the seventh to pick up her third save of the year.

Senior righty Darci Gilbert (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) suffered the loss (4-6) as she was charged for six runs (five earned) in three innings.

The Lady Bucs return to home to take on Mercer in conference doubleheader on Friday, April 16. First pitch is set for 4 p.m. at the ETSU Softball Complex.
