Enoch and Stewart Share Lead at British Amateur Championship

North Berwick, East Lothian (June 15, 2010) - ETSU rising senior Rhys Enoch (Cornwall, England) and rising junior Michael Stewart (Troon, Scotland) are tied for the lead after the first round at the British Amateur Championship.

 

Enoch, winner of the NCAA East regional last month, put together a faultless round of four birdies and no bogeys to share the lead at the half-way stage of stroke play qualifying with a 67 on the Par-71 North Berwick layout.

 

Stewart also finished with an equally impressive round of 67 after 18-holes of play after putting together 7 birdies during his opening round.

 

There are 288 players competing in the prestigious event with the top 64 players plus ties advancing to the Match Play portion, June 16-19.
