ETSU Baseball to face FGCU in battle for first place

(May 7, 2010) - The ETSU baseball team is set to face Florida Gulf Coast in a three-game series that could determine the Atlantic Sun conference champion starting Saturday at 1 p.m. with a doubleheader at Swanson Stadium in Fort Myers, Fla. The two teams close out the series with a single on Sunday slated for 1 p.m. The Bucs (27-18, 14-7 A-Sun) have won five straight including a 12-4 mid-week win over Wofford and a sweep of Stetson last weekend. ETSU is 3-0 on the season in road series, and 5-2 in conference series. Junior Paul Hoilman ( The match up between the Bucs and Eagles features two Golden Spikes candidates in Hoilman and FGCU's Chris Sale, as well as the second best offense in the A-Sun against the second ranked pitching staff. ETSU is looking for their first win against FGCU having gone 0-6 against the Eagles since they joined the A-Sun.
