Hoilman named to All Ping!Baseball Pre-Season All-American Second Team
Tuesday, January 12, 2010
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Jan. 12, 2010) - Junior Paul Hoilman (Johnson City, Tenn.) added to his list of pre-season honors as he was named to the 2010 All Ping!Baseball Pre-season Second Team announced Ping! Baseball on Tuesday.
"This is another great honor for Paul," said head coach Tony Skole. "He has accomplished a lot in his two years at ETSU, and it will be exciting to see what the next two years have in store for him. Paul is extremely gifted and talented, but what sets him apart are the multiple intangibles that he possesses, like outstanding work ethic, dedication and competitiveness. Add all of these to the fact that he is an outstanding leader and teammate and you pretty much have the total package."
Hoilman was named to the 2010 Louisville Slugger Pre-season All-American Third Team in December by College Baseball Insider after pounding out 19 doubles, 17 home runs and 66 RBI while hitting .380 a year ago.
Currently the junior is tied with Kennesaw State's Jace Whitmer as the active home run leader in the Atlantic Sun conference with 26, and is three back of fifth place all-time on the ETSU career home run list.
The Bucs open the 2010 season on Feb. 19 as the Bucs face The Citadel in the The Citadel Memorial Challenge at Joseph P. Riley Jr. Park in Charleston, S.C.
