Monday, September 21, 2009

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 21, 2009) - After dropping a tough 3-0 decision to Elon, the ETSU men's soccer team is set to face third ranked North Carolina Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Fetzer Field in Chapel Hill, N.C.

The Bucs (1-2-2) are 0-2-1 in their last three games falling to Radford and Elon, while tying Virginia Tech on the road. ETSU has had four players score a goal led by sophomore Sean Hoek (Newburgh, Ind.) and Jaron Westbrook (Round Rock, Texas). Westbrook has the lone game-winner for the Bucs.

ETSU is 0-1-1 all-time against teams from the ACC including a 1-1 draw against the Hokies this year. The Bucs dropped an 8-0 decision to the Tar Heels a year ago in the only meeting between the two schools.

North Carolina (4-0-1) has won three-straight coming into the match. The Tar Heels defeated conference opponents NC State and Duke this past weekend. Michael Farfan and Cameron Brown lead the UNC attack with three goals apiece, while Farfan has a team leading seven points on the season.
