JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 24, 2009) - After wrapping up its brutal non-conference schedule last weekend the ETSU women's soccer team opens its quest for a 2009 Atlantic Sun Conference Championship as the Bucs host league rival North Florida, for a 4:00 p.m., contest Friday at Summers-Taylor Stadium.

Overall, ETSU (1-7-0, 0-0 A- Sun) faced one of its toughest non-conference schedules in program history this fall with road trips against five 2008 NCAA Tournament participants.

Individually, sophomore keeper Megan Masch (Virginia Beach, Va.), leads the Buc defense this season with a league-best 55 saves. The second-year starter also sits third among A-Sun keepers with a 4.62 goals against average.

UNF (3-5-1, 0-0 A-Sun) enters the contest after picking up a 4-2 win over the Citadel last Sunday. Overall, the Lady Ospreys have had an up-and-down non- conference season. Before the win Sunday against the Bulldogs, UNF picked up victories over Coastal Carolina and Georgia Southern.

Individually, UNF senior forward Katelin Swift should give the Bucs a tough test after currently leading the A-Sun in goals (7) and points (17). The reigning A-Sun Offensive Player of the Week scored two of UNF's four goals against the Citadel.

In their last meeting the Bucs fell to North Florida 2-1 last September. In that match, Swift posted the game-winner in the 76th minute.

North Florida leads the all-time series 1-3-0. The Bucs however did pick up its lone victory the last time the Lady Ospreys visited the Tri-Cities defeating North Florida 4-1 in 2006.

Friday's contest will also be Buc Wild Day. All active Buc Wild members are encouraged to come out and get free pizza, courtsey of Ci-Ci, while they watch the Bucs take on UNF.

Also the ETSU Atheltic Department reminds all fans that September is Youth Soccer Month. All youth soccer players that wear their jerseys during Sunday's contest against Jacksonville will receive free admission.
