Bucs' Rhys Enoch out to pay tribute to his brother Ben

They were about to share a great American adventure - Truro's very own swashbuckling band of brothers taking on the best US college golf could throw at them.

Welsh international Rhys Enoch (Cornwall, England) had already spent 24 months across "the pond" but this summer was to be something special, the year kid brother Ben joined him at East Tennessee State University.

But this wasn't going to be any ordinary summer in the life of the Enoch family when Welsh golf was rocked to its foundations by the death of Ben in a car crash.

On April 30, and just a few days away from his 19th birthday, Ben was travelling to the Lytham Trophy, near Blackpool, when his car left the road on the A40 in Herefordshire.

Last summer, Ben confirmed his status as one of the rising stars of the game being part of the Great Britain and Ireland Boys team which won the Jacques Leglise Trophy against the continent of Europe.

He also won the Clwyd Open and lost to Ben Westgate in the final of the Welsh Amateur Championship. He represented the Wales Boys teams in 2006 and 2007, before going on to win senior caps in 2008.

His game was set to go up a considerable few notches across in the United States with a place in the college that helped turn Bridgend's Rhys Davies from a raw-boned teenager into a Challenge Tour winner and an Open Championship participant.
