JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 23, 2009) - After hitting for the cycle against Campbell and earning a complete game victory against UNC Asheville, freshman Bo Reeder (Cookeville, Tenn.) was named the Atlantic Sun Player of the Week announced the conference office Monday.

"Bo just had a tremendous week and it couldn't have come at a better time for our club," said head coach Tony Skole. "He did a little bit of everything and his pitching performance on Tuesday really gave us some much needed momentum.  For those who have watched our club play thus far, it would be difficult not to notice some of Bo's performances, as he has played brilliantly at times, but this week he put it all together.  He was simply dominant.  For a freshman he has a very mature approach to the game."

Reeder led the Bucs (9-10, 3-6 A-Sun) to a 4-1 week as the freshman had an incredible week that included a complete game 3-2 win on the mound against UNC Asheville on Tuesday and hit for the cycle on Saturday against Campbell. On the week, Reeder went 11-for-22 with four doubles, one triple, two home runs and drove in seven while scoring six times.

Against UNC Asheville, Reeder was impressive on the mound allowing only two runs on five hits in the game walking only one batter and struck out four. In the same game, Reeder went 2-for-4 helping his own cause by driving in the first run of the game and setting the tone for the Bucs. The freshman standout slugged 1.045 on the week and also made some outstanding plays in the field for the Bucs robbing the hottest hitting team in the conference of at least a couple hits. In game two of the Campbell series, Reeder came to the plate in the sixth only needing a triple to complete the cycle and crushed a ball to center over the head of Matt Keen to pick up the triple and complete the game a perfect 5-for-5.

Reeder is the first player to be named the A-Sun Player of the Week since last season when Ben Allen (Kingsport, Tenn.) racked up 12 RBI on the week.
