RADFORD, Va. (April 8, 2009) - A six run first by Radford was all the Highlanders would need as they defeated ETSU Wednesday afternoon at Dedmon Center Park in Radford, Va., 11-4.

Radford starter Paul DeVito (4-1) held the Bucs to one run on four hits in 6.1 innings of work with two walks and struck out five. Ben Andrews (Leesburg, Fla.) was tabbed with the loss giving up six runs (five earned) on five hits in 0.2 innings dropping to 1-3 on the season.

The Bucs fall to 14-15 on the season with the loss and are 6-9 in league play, while the Highlanders improve to 14-11 on the year.

Right fielder Reggie Keen put the Highlanders in front 1-0 in the bottom of the first as he singled in a run. Radford added five more runs in the inning on a two-run home run to right by first baseman Alex Gregory, a two-run single by catcher Carl Travers and a Garrett May (Roswell, Ga.) error to make the score 6-0.

The Highlanders added another run in the bottom of the second on a Matt Hillsinger RBI single to take a 7-0 lead.

Third baseman Bo Reeder (Cookeville, Tenn.) got the Bucs on the board in the top of the fifth as he singled to left driving in May to cut the Radford lead to 7-1.

Radford scored four insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth on a three run-triple by Travers and a RBI single by Tyren Rivers to increase its lead to 11-1.

ETSU picked up a run in the top of the seventh on a Paul Hoilman (Johnson City, Tenn.) RBI single through the right side to score May to make the score 11-2 Highlanders.

The Bucs added two more runs in the top of the ninth as Hoilman doubled in Reeder and Ben Allen (Kingsport, Tenn.) drove in Troy Mendez (Roswell, Ga.) on a sac fly to deep right center to make the final 11-4.

The Bucs were led offensively by Hoilman as he was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI on the day.
