NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 10, 2008) - The ETSU men's soccer team dropped another close game Friday night falling to Lipscomb on a late goal at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex in Nashville, Tenn., 2-1.

The Bisons took a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute as Garret Pettis netted a pass from Andrew Chamberlain. Lipscomb continued to put pressure on ETSU, but the Bucs were able to get on the board in the 37th minute as Kyle Franklin (Maryville, Tenn.) knocked a pass from Russell Thompson (Blairsville, Ga.) into the back of the net to tie the game at 1-1.

In the second half, both teams played back and forth until the 84th minute as Lipscomb was awarded a penalty kick after an ETSU foul. Miguel DeSilva took the penalty kick for Lipscomb, beating the Buccaneer keeper to put the Bisons on top 2-1. ETSU had a couple chances to tie the game in the final minutes, but the Lipscomb defense played tough denying an equalizing goal.

The Bucs (4-6, 0-3 A-Sun) were outshot by Lipscomb 25-11. James Holt (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) led ETSU defensively with five saves in the match.

The Bucs are back in action Sunday at 3 p.m. against conference opponent Belmont. Please visit www.ETSUBucs.com for more information on ETSU men's soccer or any other Buccaneer athletic team.
