Friday, November 07, 2008
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 7, 2008) - The ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will dedicate Summers-Taylor Stadium to the Summers family prior to the men's soccer game against Radford Saturday at noon.
The Summers family - which includes Rab and Nita, along with their children Lena and Grant, as well as the entire Summers-Taylor, Inc., family - provided the financial backing to make ETSU's new soccer stadium a reality. Summers-Taylor Stadium is the second of three new athletic facilities on campus, joining the Warren-Greene Golf Center, which was completed in 2004, and the new softball stadium which is scheduled for completion in mere days.
The Bucs (5-10-1, 1-7-1 A-Sun) come into the match having dropped their last three matches to Campbell, Florida Gulf Coast and Stetson. The Bucs are led offensively by Sean Hoek (Newburgh, Ind.) who has three game-winning-goals and seven points on the season.
The Highlanders (7-9-2, 3-4-1 Big South) have lost two of their last three falling to VMI and Elon, while earning a draw against Coastal Carolina at home. Radford is led by freshman Iyiola Awosika who has six goals and 12 points including two game-winning-goals.
