Women's soccer to host Francis Marion, Friday in exhibition

Thursday, August 14, 2008

(August 14, 2008) -ETSU women's soccer team will take its first step of the 2008 season, with a 5:30 p.m., exhibition match, Friday against Francis Marion University at Summers-Taylor Stadium.

The Bucs are looking to build on a successful 2007 season, after finishing with an 11-6-3, overall record a year ago. Recently, ETSU was picked to finish fourth in the Atlantic Sun preseason poll by the leagues coaches.

FMU returns 13 letterwinners, including six starters from a team that went 10-7-1 in 2007. The Patriots should be a quality test for ETSU, as FMU finished as the 15th highest scoring team in Division I soccer a year ago, averaging 2.50 goals per match.

Individual tickets for the match will be $5 for reserved seating, $3 for general admission. For tickets or more information contact the ETSU ticket office at (423) 439-3878 or visit www.etsubucs.com.
