MACON, Ga. (Jan. 21 , 2009) - Both Heidi Dahl (Orem, Utah) and Quentin Greenlee (Morristown, Tenn.) continued to post conference bests this past weekend at Appalachian State and Kentucky, and on Wednesday afternoon the Buccaneer duo were recognized for those accomplishments as they were tabbed Atlantic Sun Athlete of the Week.

Dahl continued to make great strides last weekend by setting a NCAA provisional mark and ETSU school record in the mile at the University of Kentucky Invitational.

The Orem, Utah, native continued her record-breaking feat in her second track and field meet as a Buccaneer on Saturday in Lexington, Ky. Dahl, who won the first Athlete of the Week award for 2009, beat out a tough and competitive 33-woman field in the mile at Kentucky. She knocked off Kentucky's Jessica Ortman and Tennessee's Phoebe Wright with an outstanding time of 4 minutes, 47.39 seconds.

The interdisciplinary studies major's time also broke Buccaneer Val Urchison's record of 4:49.55, which stood for 11 years. In addition, Dahl's mark blasts any A-Sun competitor, as it is 38 seconds faster than Lipscomb's Carolyn Latham, who ranks second in the league with a time of 5:25.93 set at the SIU SASF Invite.

Meanwhile, as Dahl was busying tearing up the track in Lexington, Greenlee was doing the same in Boone, N.C.

Greenlee posted the Atlantic Sun's fastest time this season in both the 55-meter and 200-meter dashes to earn his first Athlete of the Week Award.

Greenlee, a Morristown, Tenn., native, set the new Clemson track record in the 300-meter dash at the Clemson Invitational two weeks ago, but followed up that performance by finishing fourth (out of 51 athletes) in the 55-meter with a blazing speed of 6.35 on Saturday at the ASU Limited Open. Then, Greenlee was second only to Appalachian State's John Svoboda by 0.16 of a second in the 200 with a time of 22.37.

A select few Buccaneer athletes will compete this weekend at the Liberty Open in Lynchburg, Va., while the rest of the ETSU track team will not return to action until the Niswonger Invitational at the end of the month.
