MACON, Ga. (March 4, 2009)  - After starting the season with an impressive 4-0 singles record and an ITA ranking of No. 110 nationally ETSU women's tennis junior Yevgeniya Stupak (Kyiv, Ukraine) earned the Atlantic Sun Conference women's tennis Player of the Week honor the league announced Wednesday. It is the second time that Stupak has earned this honor during her career.

The preseason A-Sun Player of the Year is coming off an outstanding performance at No. 65 Mississippi State this past Saturday. After battling both weather delays and having to move from an outdoor court to inside the Bulldogs' McCarthy Gymnasium to finish the match Stupak dominated Martina Banikova in straight sets, 7-5, 6-0. Banikova, a former NCAA second-round singles participant, is regarded as one of the top singles players in the Southeastern Conference after earning all-conference honors during the 2007-08 season.

Also along with freshman doubles teammate Paula Jamie, (Madrid, Spain) Stupak has posted a 2-1 doubles record picking up victories over No. 23 Kentucky and Charleston Southern.
