ETSU Athletics holds first ever "Bluenanza"

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 21, 2008) - The ETSU Department of Athletics and the Buccaneer Athletic Scholarship Association (BASA) held the first-ever "Bluenanza" basketball tip off event Tuesday night inside Memorial Center as approximately 1,500 fans turned out to show their support of Buccaneer athletics.
In the women's scrimmage, the Blue team defeated the Gold 21-10 as Tara Davis (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) earned MVP honors for her performance, while the Gold team won the men's scrimmage 22-21 with the help of a couple big three-pointers by Courtney Pigram (Memphis, Tenn.).
Bill Benton was the lucky winner of a front row spot giveaway, while Bill and Kathy Linebarger came away with two premium front row courtside seats for the 2008-09 season. Other winners included James Mullins who received a ward room season pass, and Buc Wild member Kaitlin Chaffin who won a concession pass for the year.
The Lady Bucs tip of the season at home on Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. against the University of the Cumberlands, while the men's team will face Milligan in an exhibition game at 4 p.m. on Nov. 1 inside Memorial Center.
