Skole announces signing of May, Whittingslow to 2008-09 class

The Bucs added two more prospects, this time from the state of Georgia, with the signings of Garrett May (Marietta, Ga.) and Pete Whittingslow (Kennesaw, Ga.). May, a 6-foot, 195-pound, middle infielder is the 111th ranked middle infielder in the U.S. May was the 15th ranked prospect at the Southeastern Top Prospect Showcase conducted by Perfect Game. May was one of the key players that help Coach Mickey McMurtry win the 5A Georgia State Championship in 2006 at
"Garrett comes to us from one of the best high school baseball programs in the country," Skole said. "What attracted us to Garrett was the way he plays the game and his passion for baseball. He comes from a great pedigree as his father was a former major league player. Garrett knows how to play the game and has great instincts. Garret is a great runner and is a very physical and aggressive player. Our staff feels like he is one of the top middle infield prospects in the southeast. His hard nosed style of play and outstanding work ethic will fit in great with our program. I am really looking forward to coaching him."
Whittingslow, a 6-foot-3, 200-pound, lefty pitcher had a 5 and 0 record with a 0.98 era as a junior. Whittingslow recorded with 32 strikeouts in 28 innings pitched. His high school team was the state runner up in
