Monday, August 27, 2007

(Aug. 27, 2007) - The ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics released the 2007-08 board members for the Buccaneer Athletic Scholarship Association Monday. The board includes President Kathy Linebarger, Vice-President Joe Grandy, Treasurer Clem Wilkes and Secretary Jackie Mabrey.

The new members will assist in the mission to raise scholarship dollars for ETSU student-athletes. Linebarger will take over for Ken Bates who was the previous president of BASA.

"These people have dedicated themselves to growing the scholarship fund," said Assistant Athletic Director for Advancement and Executive Director of BASA Jo Anne Paty. "We are so fortunate to have their commitment."

Linebarger is an ETSU alum. Her son, Stephen, is a Roan Scholar and her husband Bill is also an ETSU alum and former student-athlete. Grandy is the President of Ferguson Enterprises and is a community leader and a member of the JC Sports Foundation. Wilkes, an ETSU alum, works for Citizen's Investment Services, while Mabrey works for Farm Bureau Insurance.
