ETSU Athletics participates in Senior Expo

Saturday, September 15, 2007

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (September 15, 2007) - The ETSU Athletic Department spent Saturday out in the community to promote a healthy lifestyle as they participated in the Johnson City Senior Expo at Freedom Hall Civic Center.

Members of BASA set up a booth and held a drawing to win tickets to a men's basketball game, while the ETSU cheerleaders and men's soccer team gave some demonstrations and helped with registration for the event. Bucky was also on hand to mix and mingle with the crowd.

"We realize that the senior community is the largest growing demographic in the Tri-cities and we want to do more to reach out to them. We are going to start working with the Johnson City Senior Center and we already have some special events planned for later this year," said Kevin Bostian, Director of Regional Athletic Advancement.

The ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics takes pride in its community service activities and strives for 100 percent participation from its student-athletes, coaches, and administrators throughout the year.
