ETSU volleyball wins tight match against Gardner-Webb, 3-2

(Oct. 27, 2007) -The ETSU volleyball team defeated conference opponent Gardner-Webb in five games Saturday night in Boiling Springs, N.C., 29-31, 30-19, 30-20, 27-30, 15-8. "We did enough to get by tonight, and right now I am glad we got the win," said head coach Lindsey Devine. "I think it is time for some much deserved rest." Freshman Laura Waddell ( Senior Kaena Apana ( "Kaena had moments in the game where she played outstanding and really was on her game," Devine said. "We know that this team has the desire to get better every time they step out on the court." With the win the Bucs are now 17-12 overall and 7-2 in conference play. The Bucs wrap up the regular season with a pair of conference home matches next weekend as they will take on Kennesaw State on Friday at 7 p.m. and Mercer on Saturday at 2 p.m. |
