JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (August 20, 2007) - Two ETSU women's tennis players were recently honored with ITA Scholar-Athlete Status. Senior Olya Batsula (Minsk, Belarus) and sophomore Whitney Trotter (Guadalajara, Mexico) were named ITA Scholar-Athletes for the 2006-07 academic year. This is the second year that Batsula has been given this honor and it is the first for Trotter.

In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must be a varsity letterwinner, have a grade point average of at least 3.50 for the current academic year, and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters. 

The Lady Bucs, who finished 17-10 overall and 10-2 in the conference last season and faced several nationally ranked teams also had five of the top seven players with grade point averages above 3.5 for the spring term.
