JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 13, 2007) - The ETSU men's tennis team continued action on Saturday as members of the team competed at the UNF Invitational and USC Invitational. Action will conclude on Sunday at both tournaments.

Competing in the Flight A bracket senior Lisandro Picardo (Mar del Plata, Argentina) fell to Eduardo Pereira of North Florida,a 5-7, 6-4, 6-3, while Sergio Velez (Medellin, Colombia) fell to Corey Smith of Florida Atlantic, 6-1, 6-1 in the Flight B bracket.

In the Flight A consolation bracket Daniel Isaza (Medellin, Colombia) fell to Joris De Weerdt of Georgia Southern 6-3, 2-6, 10-1.

At the South Carolina Invitational senior Oscar Posada (Valencia, Venezuela) continued to roll as he defeated Louisville's David Simon, 7-6, 6-4 in the Round of 16 before defeating Vinicius Bortolatto of Winthrop in a hard-fought three set match, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 in the quarterfinals.

Competing in the A-2 bracket, Predrag Burmazovic (Belgrade, Serbia) defeated South Carolina's David Wolff, 7-6, 6-1 before defeating Michael Nusslein of South Florida, 7-5, 6-2 in the quarterfinals.

In doubles action Posada and Alex Ahlgren (Tyreso, Sweden) defaulted to Andrew Brasseaux and Charles Sator of Wake Forest due to an injury to Posada.

"We had another good day today. I'm extremely happy with Oscar's performance today. In his first match he picked up a win over an opponent he had lost to earlier this year at Vanderbilt. It was good for him to gain a little bit of confidence and he went out and had a great win this afternoon over a very tough opponent from Winthrop. Predrag also played very well today. He got down early in both of his matches but was able to battle back and play hard to fight it out. I'm very proud of the way that he fought back. Overall I'm happy with their performances and we'll just try to continue it tomorrow," said assistant coach Johan Dorfh.
