The Bucs continued their opening day with another 5-0 win in the afternoon over Navy. Picardo paired with Daniel Isaza (Medellin, Colombia) to take the doubles match 6-2, 6-0 against Alex James and Jarrad Smoke.

In singles, Serrano gave the Bucs the 2-0 advantage when he knocked off John Waters, 6-3, 6-4 in the No. 3 slot, while Enrique Olivares (Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela) clinched the match with a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Nate Nelms in the top position. The match between Predrag Burmazovic (Belgrade, Serbia) and Jason Hill in the No. 2 position was called with Burmazovic leading 6-4, 5-6 on serve. Posada's match in the No. 4 slot was also called as he led Joe Wiggins, 6-4, 6-5 at match point.

"It was a well-fought match and Navy is a solid team. We played well and the guys came out fighting from the beginning and didn't give them any chances," said head coach Yaser Zaatini. "It was good that we were tested and it was good that we also managed to close it out."

Continuing play tomorrow on day 3 of the VCU 4x1 Invitational the Bucs will play Longwood at 8 a.m. before taking on Temple at Noon.
