JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 13, 2008) - The 42nd-ranked ETSU men's tennis team defeated Indiana State, 7-0 on Thursday afternoon. The Bucs improve to 12-3 overall while the Sycamores fall to 4-8 on the year.

ETSU claimed the doubles point to take the 1-0 advantage. Competing in the No. 2 slot the 53rd-ranked duo of Sebastian Serrano (Cartagena, Colombia) and Enrique Olivares (Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela) dropped Mike Wenham and Anton Tsymbalov, 8-2 while Lisandro Picardo (Mar del Plata, Argentina) and Daniel Isaza (Medellin, Colombia) defeated Mpiloenhle Migogo and Rishi Behl, 8-6. The Bucs made it a sweep when Oscar Posada (Valencia, Venezuela) and Alex Ahlgren (Tyreso, Sweden) defeated Joshua Smith and Jon Sigurdsson, 9-7.

In singles the Bucs would finish their opponents in straight sets. No. 61 Enrique Olivares defeated Anton Tsymbalov, 6-3, 6-2 in the top position, while Predrag Burmazovic (Belgrade, Serbia) defeated Joshua Smith, 6-1, 4-3 ret. inj. in the No. 2 slot. Competing in the No. 3 position Sebastian Serrano topped Jon Sigurdsson, 6-1, 6-2 while Lisandro Picardo picked up his 11th straight victory to remain perfect in dual play dropping Mpilo Migogo, 6-2, 6-1 in the fourth position. In the No. 5 slot Oscar Posada defeated Mike Wenham, 6-3, 6-1 while Daniel Isaza cruised past Blake Douglas, 6-1, 6-2 in the No. 6 position.

"I think they played pretty well. I'm not 100 percent satisfied with the way we played doubles but they've been clutch all year and it's hard to criticize a winning performance. I just hope that we come out with a little bit more intensity in the next couple of matches," said head coach Yaser Zaatini.

The Bucs will be back in action on Saturday March 15 as they take on Nebraska on the ETSU tennis courts. The match is set to begin at 10:00 a.m.
