JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 29, 2008) - The East Tennessee State softball team have won seven of its last 10 games, but after being swept by UNF on Friday the Lady Bucs lost some of their momentum. ETSU has the chance to get back on track this Sunday when they host Jacksonville at 1 p.m. from Metro-Kiwanis Park.

The Softball Bucs - who were limited to only one run on three hits in Friday's doubleheader - currently, holds a 16-20, 3-5 mark.

A pair of sophomore's has helped fuel the recent run over the last 10 games. Katy Jett (Talbott, Tenn.) and Marissa Hardy (Rocklin, Calif.) are both hitting over .400 during this stretch. Jett brings a season-high seven-game hit streak into Sunday's double-dip and is hitting .433 (13-30) with two doubles, a home run and nine RBIs over the last 10 games. Hardy is helping ETSU both at the plate and in the circle. The right-handed hurler has three of the Lady Bucs' seven wins and is batting .413 (10-24) with three doubles, a home run and six RBIs as well.

Jacksonville enters Sunday's match-up dropping seven of its last nine games and stands 15-26, 2-6 in Atlantic Sun play.

The Dolphins are not the most explosive team in the conference, but they definitely cause a lot of problems on the base paths.  As a team, JU ranks last in the A-Sun with three home runs, but the Dolphins entered weekend play in second with 56 stolen bases. JU tallied four more on Friday at Kennesaw, pushing its total to 60 and have only been caught eight times.

Freshman shortstop Katie Kelly leads the club in hitting with her .316 average and also has a team-best 18 RBI. Senior right-hander Shannon Jensen is the ace of the Dolphins' pitching staff. Jensen is 7-10 with a 2.50 ERA (41 ER/115.0 IP) and is the league leader with 33 appearances and four saves.
