GREENVILLE, S.C. (Apr. 12, 2007) - Freshman shortstop Justin Tramble (Marietta, Ga.) hit his first career home run Thursday afternoon, a two-run ninth inning blast that capped a two-run rally for the Baseball Bucs as ETSU defeated Furman for the second time this season, 4-3 at the Furman Baseball Stadium.  It is ETSU's 12th come from behind victory this season, and the Bucs are now 18-4 in games decided by two runs or less.

The Bucs (24-12) trailed 3-1 entering the ninth inning, but sophomore Troy Mendez (Roswell, Ga.) drew a leadoff walk, and freshman Tanner Moore (Chattanooga, Tenn.) pulled ETSU within one run with a double into the left field corner.  Following a popout and a strikeout, Tramble drove an 0-1 fastball from Furman reliever Nick Hollstegge over the left field fence, giving the Bucs their first lead of the afternoon.

Trailing 2-0 in the sixth inning, freshman Danny Petro (Atlanta, Ga.) cut the lead in half, hammering his second home run of the season over the left field fence off Furman starter J.P. Goldsberry.

The Paladins (9-23) plated single runs in the fourth and fifth innings, and added an apparent insurance run on a bases loaded walk in the eighth.

Freshman starter Drew Story (Jefferson City, Tenn.) turned in the best performance of his collegiate career on they day.  The righty threw eight solid innings, a new career best, striking out four and scattering six hits to improve to 2-2 on the season.  He also stranded Paladin runners at third base in four of his eight innings.  Senior Caleb Glafenhein (Knoxville, Tenn.) retired Furman in order in the ninth for his sixth save.  Hollstegge took the loss for the Paladins, falling to 0-5.

Tramble and Petro were the only two Bucs to turn in multi-hit performances on the day, each finishing 2-for-4 with a run scored.

The Bucs are back in action Friday night, opening a three-game Atlantic Sun Conference series with Lipscomb at Cardinal Park.  First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
