ETSU women's soccer earns NSCAA Team Ethics Award

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (February 1, 2007) - The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) recently announced that the ETSU women's soccer program has been named a NSCAA Team Ethics Award winner.

 

A total of 57 intercollegiate soccer programs earned either the Gold, Silver or Bronze version of the Team Ethics award. The ETSU women's soccer team was awarded the Silver Ethics Award for being issued only five yellow caution cards during the season.

 

"We are honored to receive this award from the NCSAA.  This is just another way to acknowledge the teams' commitment to be true competitors within the rules of the game," said head coach Heather Henson.

 

The award recognizes teams that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the Laws of the Game, as reflected by the number of yellow caution cards or red ejection cards they are shown by referees throughout the season.
