KENNESAW, GA. (Jan. 26, 2007) - The number five will be the Lady Bucs lucky number this weekend as they are in search of their fifth consecutive win and their fifth straight conference road victory. A win for ETSU will mark its first five-game winning streak since Feb. 12-March 4, 2000 when they won six straight, and it will also mark the Lady Bucs first five-game conference road winning streak in school history.

ETSU (11-7, 7-1) and Kennesaw State met for the first time last season with the Lady Bucs sweeping the season series. ETSU defeated the Lady Owls, 74-66, in Johnson City, and took game two in the series, 69-55, at Kennesaw. Junior Michele DeVault (Columbus, Ohio) came off the bench and scored 14 points, going two-of-two from the field and nine-for-nine from the free throw line in Memorial Center. Nichelle Akers (Sumter, S.C.) pitched in 11 points and five rebounds in the win down in Kennesaw on Jan. 16, 2006.

Kennesaw State (8-10, 4-4) has won five of its last nine and two of its last three in the A-Sun. The Lady Owls are coming off a 73-68 overtime win over UNF last Saturday, thanks to a career-high 22-point effort from freshman Rosetta Hollis. Hollis leads Kennesaw by averaging 14.6 ppg and 7.5 rpg. Kennesaw is playing only its seventh home game of the season, where they are currently 2-4 inside the KSU Convocation Center.

This weekend the WBCA is encouraging that its membership, all coaching staffs and game day support staffs help bring the women's basketball world together in a show of support for all coaches who are battling cancer. Every team who has a game this weekend was asked to wear pink on the bench to support the special cause. For more information on the event please click on the link above or visit. www.wbca.org.
