JOHNSON CITY, Tenn.. (October 31, 2006) ­­­­- The Lady Bucs swept past Western Carolina Tuesday night in Brooks Gym, closing out their home schedule and extending their school-record winning streak to 14 consecutive matches and 17 of their last 18.

 

ETSU finishes 9-2 on its home court for the second consecutive season.

 

"We are a driven team right now," said head coach Lindsey Devine. "We know that every match is an opportunity fine tune our skills in preparation for the A-Sun tournament.."

 

The Lady Bucs (23-5) controlled the match from the outset, hitting .341 in the opening game en route to 30-21 victory.  Junior Callie Kiselich (Colorado Springs, Colo.) led the way for ETSU with a perfect performance belting seven kills in as many chances.  Senior Jennifer Sartor (Toronto, Ontario) matched Kiselich with seven kills of her own.

 

It was more of the same in the second frame, as the Lady Bucs hit .357, led by senior Crystal Palmer's (Chico, Calif.) .667 hitting percentage and six kills.  Kiselich added six kills as well, and the Lady Bucs cruised to a 30-19 win.

 

The Catamounts (7-25) hung tough in the third stanza, but Kiselich, Palmer and Sartor again paced ETSU, combining for 14 kills and the Lady Bucs closed out the sweep 30-28.

 

Kiselich finished with a match-high 19 kills, followed by Palmer's 13 and 12 from Sartor.  Senior Nani Emerson (Tracy, Calif.) also had a spectacular night, dishing out a match-high 42 assists, digging up a team-high 15 balls and accumulating five kills on five attacks with no errors.

 

The Lady Bucs return to action Sunday afternoon at Milligan.  Match time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
