JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 21, 2007) -The top-seeded Buccaneer tennis team advanced to the finals of the General Shale Brick Atlantic Sun tournament for the first time since joining the conference after defeating Jacksonville, 4-0. ETSU improves to 22-4 on the season, while the Dolphins fall to 14-7.

ETSU came out swinging early and picked up a 1-0 lead as they captured the doubles point. In the No. 2 position, Sebastian Serrano (Cartagena, Colombia) and Enrique Olivares (Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela) picked up their 11th straight victory as they cruised by Victor Vaz and Jordi Ballester, 8-2, while Lisandro Picardo (Mar del Plata, Argentina) and Daniel Isaza (Medellin, Colombia) downed Marcos Oliveira and Vinicius Craveiro, 8-3 in the third position.

The Bucs continued their domination of the Dolphins as Alex Ahlgren (Tyreso, Sweden) was the first off the court dropping Vinicius Craveiro, 6-0, 6-1 in the sixth slot, while Enrique Olivares downed Francisco Riveroll, 6-2, 6-4 in the No. 2 position. Junior Sebastian Serrano clinched the victory for the Bucs as he breezed by Victor Vaz, 6-1, 6-0.

"After the second year in the conference we are making it to the finals for the first time and I extremely proud of how hard the guys have worked this season," said head coach Yaser Zaatini. "Stetson is a very good team so I expect a tough match tomorrow and it's going to be a battle."

The Bucs defeated Stetson, 6-1 during the regular season. "They have changed their lineup since the last time we played them and Hicham Laalej (A-Sun Player of the Year) was in the second position and is now in the one position. They have also moved some things around in doubles. I expect it to be a good match and the best team will win," added Zaatini.

The Bucs will take on the Hatters tomorrow in the A-Sun Championship match at 1 p.m. Follow all ETSU men's tennis action at www.ETSUBucs.com.
