Bucs begin conference play on road Thursday at Mercer
Wednesday, November 29, 2006
MACON, Ga. (Nov. 29, 2006) -- With three games left on its current road trip, the ETSU men's basketball team begins conference play Thursday night with a 7:30 p.m. tipoff against Mercer.
The Bucs, coming off a 66-52 win over Southern in the South Padre Island Invitational in South Padre Island, Texas, are looking to improve to 4-4 on the season and get started on the right track with a conference victory. Mercer, 1-3, has struggled in the early going this season.
For ETSU, freshman guard Dequan Twilley (Shelbyville) will be back with the team after missing the Bucs last three games. In Twilley's absence, sophomore guard Tayloe Taylor (Memphis) stepped up his game, as did junior forward Andrew Reed (Port Richey, Fla.). Both Taylor and Reed set season highs for scoring and rebounding in Texas, while sophomore guard Courtney Pigram (Memphis) earned all-tournament honors, and senior forward Brad Nuckles (Council, Va.) led the team in rebounding two nights in a row.
